What circumstances for 30 Mins Flexing?

I don't think anyone in our office is aware of this, everyone takes out the lapsing no matter what, and if it's busy they'll rush round/not take their break to get it finished so they can still go home on time. And if you say you don't have time then management kick up a right fuss, colleagues looks down on you with disgust as if your stepping out of line.

No one gets the thirty minutes back in any meaningful way. Invariably they tell you to come in thirty minutes later than normal. The end result is you have thirty minutes less to prep, bag up and head out. What? did you think someone was going to be able to magically pull thirty minutes of work out of their arseholes? Well they certainly weren't going to ask someone to come in half an hour earlier to ensure your later arrival didn't have an impact on your workload.

I will not Lapse if I cannot complete my duties AND the lapsing within my allocated times. Due to the way Royal Mail seem unwilling to address any Delivery problems this basically means I never lapse ,apart from the odd Tuesday IF I'm on a "Duty of the Correct Length" (I'm trying to get out of calling them "Easy" Duties)

It still amazes me that there's senior posties with 20 years service who don't understand the lapsing rules. Only recently one of the "Old Boys" said to me, "I didn't take my lapsing today it was too busy"! Good on you mate. He's been taking it for ages going over and not getting paid for it! God knows how much money RM must save through out the business thanks to these ill informed Posties!
