It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

In my area, Amazon opened their own logistics depot in Wigan and covers the whole of the North West from there. As far as I'm aware the only packets that are still handled by RM express deliveries which comes through as special deliveries.

We still get shed loads of Amazon stuff where we are, especially tracked. I swapped my day off this week with someone who wanted my Thursday. Bugger!

Yes they'll have taken on more staff in mail centres, but there won't be any increase in the numbers of posties who have to sort and deliver it all !POSTMAN wrote:Oh ffs there is nothing to worry about,Royal Mail have everything in order...

We still get thousands of Amazon pkts including delivered scanned , tracked , special delivery and returns as we are only 2 miles from a huge Amazon depot , I'm surprised they don't deliver their own down here as its so close to the depot

We’re expecting a significant increase in our Tracked 24 volumes today and tomorrow, as Amazon launches its first ever Prime Day to drive sales, subscriptions and revenue.
In the UK, the online retailer is planning more than double the number of deals it offered last Black Friday, when it shipped 5.5 million items.
Quality of Service
Thanks to our fantastic Quality of Service, Amazon chooses to use Royal Mail Tracked 24 for many of its shipments to Prime customers.
It’s important that our scan performance remains at the high standard we set ourselves all year round. We are expecting to see the same level of focus on Tracked 24 as we saw last Christmas.
As part of our commitment to respond to our customer needs, we have been working with Amazon to prepare for the expected surge in parcel volumes.
Additional collections and network services have been put in place, and local arrangements between mail centres and delivery offices have been reviewed to ensure we are able to cope with an increase in traffic.

Re: Amazon 'Prime Day'
Did anybody notice a massive increase in Amazon tracked? There were only a couple more than on a usual Thursday. Either this was a big flop for Amazon in this area (they don't deliver here) or it'll all hit us tomorrow...?
