please help ???

Post by tatts37 »

hi
i applied for a postman with driving position with a local royal mail office on the 9th of june and done the online tests the same day,my candidate profile on the royal mail site says "test completed" 9th of june.ive still not heard anything so decided to email my application@royalmail.com to see if they could tell me anything.yesterday (9th july) i received a email back from myapplication@royalmail.com this is how it read

"thank you for your email, apologies for the delay in responding to your email,i have looked into this and can see that you completed the online test but the positions were actually filled via waiting list candidates so are no longer being advertised"

if the jobs were filled with waiting list candidates then why advertise the vacancy on the royal mail site in the first place?? I'm confused also my candidate profile still says my status is "test completed" and have not received a email from royal mail recruitment regarding my status.
can anyone help ??
many thanks

It can be a long process getting in the door at Royal Mail, for years I had too many points on my license so couldn't apply then when I lost the points I applied for a vacancy and after doing the online test, got an interview but couldn't make it as I had already committed myself to volunteering at the Glastonbury festival. RM were basically like 'tough s**t' and cancelled my application. Then a few months later another local vacancy came up and I got an interview only to be unsuccessful but was told I was on some form of waiting list. Thinking they were just fobbing me off, I did get a call from HR a couple of weeks later and got a job!
