Take 20 mins before you go out DIM says

What the DIM was saying take your 20 minutes before you go out if you don't you can not put the full 40 minutes at the end of your duty.

Now I am not for one minute saying the union is wrong in backing this.

What is wrong of the union is to back this when the time for that 20 minutes doesn't exist at the time the DIMS enforcing it.

Most of you have been in RM to know that if you have to be at your delivery for the 09.10 or what ever time your office business plan dictates, that means you have to be tied up van loaded and in canteen for 08.30 .In our office we are not we are still throwing in we are not getting into the canteen until 09.00-09.30 .

This is due to a shite revision the one previous wasn't much better either.

Now I have raised this to my union rep who agrees with the DIM ,but the time isn't there.

This is why the CWU is wrong to back this and agree with the enforcement.

I hope some of you can now see where I am coming from instead of coming out with stupid quotes about taking leave next etc etc.

If during the revision process this time was actually built into duties this issue would never have come about.

Once again a rushed muddled revision that we have to live with for another 3 years.

Then you cut-off and follow the overrunning delivery procedure! Why should you have to skip your ENTITLED meal relief in order to make an unachievable work plan achievable?

Well you need to come to our office to see what goes on. People working many hrs for free. As for breaks theirs probably about 15 out of about 120 that take their breaks, the rest are bundling up in their breaks. If everyone took their breaks and stopped coming in early our office would be a mess and management know this but do nothing.

We do cut off or book over 44 loops were given back to DIMS the other week plus heavy and large.

Luckily enough no one comes in early or works for free.

It solely comes down to common sense if you want to implement something make sure you have given that time in the duty.

I think its easy to say do this do that it isnt your problem but for those of you that have worked at R/M long enough management in the end try to make it your problem,and for those weaker members of staff they become easy targets for over zealous managers.

The reason people work through breaks and do the job fast is because 9/10 times, they are able to get off early. You will never stop people wanting to get a rush on, until RM make everyone stop until their time. This being said, it wouldn't be in RM interest to really push this because they would no doubt have more people cutting off and working slower
