And so today was my second day as a new Royal Mail worker. Yesterday I did the induction and today i was walking a round with a colleague.
My contract is 25-30 hours a week and I asked about filling in my p46(sent my contract by post yesterday) and was told that it shall get done tomorrow. I do not like asking about money for my first days in work but when will I get paid? I am stressing as I have kids and like everyone, have bills to pay. Do you think I will get paid this week? (My bank details were sent to them last week by email).
I am probably stressing bout nothing but what do you guys think?
Thanks

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thanks POSTMAN.

On my first day (induction day) I was super nervous before arriving then we (6 newbies) sat down and David(Royal Mail human resources) went through everything covering the Royal Mail, from it's history, security, competition and to the employees benefits. It was great fun as we were set challenges and small quizzes.
Tuesday, my real first day at work. I found everyone in the Royal Mail distribution center to be full of laughs, helpful and friendly. We were taken to be next to a postperson doing a walk or a round and watch how they do it.
Today my third day I helped deliver on a walk with a post woman. She greatly helped me and I must admit I was a little bit slow but happy that I gave my 100%.
Hope you get the job and good luck
