Incorrect. Work related injuries are counted on the Stage process. However at Stage 3 when dismissal can be considered any absences caused by work related injuries should not be counted.

A self-certificate is required for the first 7 days of absence and thereafter a GP medical fit note is required and as you are revisiting the medical centre on Tuesday you will need to have the fit noted back dated to the expiry of your self-certificate. If your last absence less than 6 months ago is your first to be recorded on a clean absence record then you have as previously stated an absence period of 13 days before a first stage formal prompt is issued so if your last absence was over 2 days then you will trigger a stage 1 unless your absence was the result of an AOD which should be discounted which has also been mentioned.
Just a small point to be considered if you are unable to look left or right then I trust you are not driving to the medical centre.
He will be alright if the medical centre is straight ahead.

Yes I know. But you said it doesn't count on the Stage process.

It shouldn't and there's the rub,too many loose interpretations available.

My approach is yes respect the stage process.

But UK law trumps everything.

Then again,I retired before they could crowbar me out.

Looking at retraining ,would never return to RM though.

Never seen mismanagement like it anywhere else.

Personal preference though, some folk like it.
