I don’t get it. They convene at 14:00 to talk about it. What’s wrong with 09:00, considering the enormity of the whole thing. For them to be taking so long, looks like there must be stumbling blocks. Pension review !! Theres nothing to review at a later date as far as all my colleagues are concerned. All of our existing pension rights must be guaranteed.
This whole affair stinks. If the deal was any good the Union would be shouting from the roof tops and leaking it left, right and centre.
The deal is obviously crap and they are trying to come up with the wording to make it sound good (trying to polish sh*t). In the meantime, all this delay plays into the hand of :lfo :cfo who will continue to stall and play silly buggers using every trick in the book to ensure that the Christmas mail is not disrupted and EA continues right across the country. I understand that any change to working conditions are deemed to have been accepted if they are carried out for 3 months. i.e. once the three months are up we are fcukt.
I'm not a wind up merchant and nobody wants a good deal more than me but, we have been taking action for a while now and negotiations have finally got to a deal seemingly worth considering, that being so surely we need to let the PEC look at it closely to ensure the right decision or would you rather they approve something that has hidden dangers? Remember we agreed a deal before that RM unilaterally changed, this deal could get huge publicity and it needs to be right, if PEC are taking their time to ensure we don't get shafted then ok,only fools rush in....just like we did with SDD!!
Since we all pay CWU subs, why the hell can't they at least inform the majority on what is happening.
They've got a funny way about going their business..what other institute would take money off you and then proceed to use it on full page adverts, car stickers, fighting high court lawyers, but not keep you informed very well?
even if the deals an acceptable one [which is unlikely], how can we trust rm to stick to the deal, after all, they havent stuck to any deals before have they ie. way forward agreement. its all a load of blx, whatever deal we get will be ripped up further down the line and we'll all be striking again, where does it end?
