Sharon Parry, of Whitstable, was on her rounds in May 2006 when she noticed a car with two men inside following her.
She said: "I'd just dropped off a parcel and was walking back to the van in Vulcan Close when these two men approached me.
"One grabbed my neck while the other tried to snatch my keys. I knew exactly what they were going to do so I braced myself and tried to keep hold of them."
One of the robbers managed to get the keys and started the ignition, but Sharon refused to give up and tried to wrench the van door open as the vehicle began to move away.
After the fourth attempt, the robbers stopped the van and shoved Sharon to the pavement.
She continued: "Unfortunately the men managed to get away but luckily the police recovered the van and managed to get fingerprints.
"One of the men was convicted and at the trial the judge nominated me for a High Sheriff of Kent Award."

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Huh? Are RM saying that this lady acted correctly? Brave, sure, no doubt about that, but I thought the official line was to give robbers what they wanted if threatened. I'm very surprised she wasn't given a ticking off for doing what she did, deliberately putting herself in further danger.
