Royal Mail Lorry overturns near Plymouth

The incident happened at about 6am between Saltash and Tideford.

All three emergency services were sent to the scene.

By 6.30am the road was partially reopened with emergency services and highways engineers at the scene.

But police warn the road will be blocked again in both directions when the seven-and-a-half ton vehicle is recovered.

The male driver escaped with a minor hand injury, police have confirmed.

Police say there is diesel across the carriageways.

A spokeswoman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The lorry is fully laden with post and it will soon be righted.

"One lane is blocked at the moment (at 7.30am) but they are going to put a road closure in when they have to recover the truck.

"It is causing a few issues in the area."
