It's just crazy how hard the royal mail and CWU supporting them have made it for you to come into work and just do your 39 hours a week with out having to worry about being sacked

It's amazing the number of people I have heard been suspended AFTER they have thrown off their walk for that day. Great timing by management that, how do they do it!

If the managers had any sense they would have suspended me AFTER I got back from my walk, ... then again that would mean him having to wait until 4pm when I got back, ...that's asking just too much.

Really clever move if this is true. Next it will be rubber bands, then spare sacks, waterproofs. :mad

to be fair the P739 thing is sensible we quite often get a van swapped over by the rtw and P739 from other offices in there, then posties use them without even checking and customers think that there item has been taken back to another town 30 miles away

You are right, bang on in fact. This is an on going problem for people who work for RM on delivery, It is looked upon in delivery that you are committing some sort of crime working only your daily contracted hours.
What would happen in a mail centre ? if a line manager were to block your path whilst leaving the floor at your legitimate finishing time ?? Come on our CWU leaders get your finger out and put a stop to this ever on-going problem in delivery. This is a daily ritual in DO's and no one has the balls to challenge RM management on the most basic of intimidation of delivery staff. It is tiresome and stressful and I cannot see any other unionised body of workers EVER accepting this kind of treatment towards its members. It is scandalous in the extreme and should be addressed by the union and made simple to avoid this needless ambiguity.

Walk around the manager and inform him it's break time. I can't see a problem there

Whilst I agree with your sentiment, if does beg the question how much trouble are the Union in if we need to resort to fear to keep members.

So, if they had agreed to do overtime to finish there duty, they would not be in any trouble whatsoever. Either way, by cutting off or doing OT,it shows the walk was way to heavy for that day. Personally, once I have thrown in ,and think I cant complete,i say to lino, i don't think i can complete today, what do you advise, its in there hands then. It works for me. :Very Happy
I married my wife for her looks, but not the one she gave me when i said i was going to be a postman.
