Overtime

Post by sunshinegirl »

Hi I'm a floater in our office and recently I've been trained on a 30hr duty. 4th day into doing the duty myself i.e. prepping etc.. I still can't seem to get round the duty in the 6hr day. Office boss has turned round and told me I will not be getting paid my overtime (No way) was his exact words! Now we do a summer laps of a duty which has started today also, I power walk the duty and don't take my legally required break which I don't add onto my time at the end! Can anybody give me advise on what should be done?! Am I well within me rights when my 6hr day is up to return with what mail I haven't delivered??! Nobody works for free these days and I certainly am not going to start. Any help would be appreciated

Take your break and cut off if he won't pay. He will try to scare the crap out of you but there's nothing he can actually do. He pays you for 6 hours, you only work 6 hours. Your job is not to finish your round it's to work 6 hours.

Have you a rep there? Best to get hold of your rep asap! Or at least some of your senior clued up colleagues!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Check out the overunning deliveries process in downloads. If you follow it correctly there is nothing they can do officially, but expect a sulking fit. http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 36&t=18563" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
