We had a Saturday collection guy that did all ours. Since the revision we do them ourselves when we walk past them. The ones collecting from Post Offices have had the times built into their duties (yeah right!).

If all you're emptying is rural lamp boxes then (in my experience) they never have much mail in them, so just take an extra stackable tray with you in the back of the van to put the few letters you pick up in. (Of course the Fiats & Peugeots have a nice shelf on the passenger side of the van, and the Vauxhalls have nice wide door pockets but obviously it would be a violation of the security rules to use them for the purpose so I'm sure noone does!)

If you're collecting from a Post Office and it's before you've completed delivery then a little care in ensuring you don't bury a tracked item under a mountain of sacks of Horizon mail is needed! Not that I've ever had to drive a 12 mile round trip to attempt delivery of such a parcel myself you understand! :whistle
