I used my car today but as I have started coming in on time and taking my break and I still had to cut off.

The screws were ok so far but I have been told they are contemplating stopping peoples pay for working too slow.

I am not backing down and will not be threatened with such crap.

When our rep found out 4 days was getting abated this week, a meeting was hastily convened & it was eventually agreed to withdraw voluntary O/T & "Do The Job Properly". Since I joined RM, I've never cut off, so I got the advice and decided to follow it, also decided to clear all my sorting, plus two days worth of kill-offs, plus my re-dirs, then tied up, and by this time, I had alerted the terracotta soldiers that "I do not think that I will be able to complete my delivery, within my working time." The fire alarm went off this morning, which put me back, with the evacuation, but afterwards, carried on and I went off to weigh my bags - and I split the over weight bags ( 1st time ever - well done RM! ), and by this time I had the DOM saying to me that he doesn't want me to take out bags, that I know I won't deliver, so I had a quick think & subtracted about 3 bags, figuring that the other bags were do-able, but it would be tight.

When I left the office, all the drivers had gone, I called mine up & he said he'd be up soon as, but he was ragging it about, like a blue-arsed fly ( he's also the assitant rep

- more of that later ). It was suggested to me by a screw, that I should walk down to my start point ( maybe a mile or so away ), so with f**k all else to do, I did, and started at my first drop at about 11am. As I neared the end of my first pouch, I called the driver, and asked him to meet me ( it's an arrangement I like having with all drivers I work with, and because we sort it out & not the screws, it works! ), but with the work he had ( he had to cover all the late starters, on all van routes, not just one area ), he had me waiting near on 1/2 hour ( oh, well, what can I do? ). Long and short of it is, even though I was dropping to schedule ( ie, so long for such and such bag ), that schedule was getting tighter and tighter, to the extent that I only managed to deliver 3 bags, then met up with my driver to collect the one he'd safe dropped ( oxy-moronic description on my walk....."safe drops", yeah, right ) and then back to the DO.

Funnily enough there was a distinct lack of "chuffedness" emanating from the screws & Lord Lucan, and when one, the DO's biff manager come up to interrogate me as to why I brought so much shite back, my driver ( the assistant rep ) dealt with it & left me feeling so confident, when another screw came up ( probably the best one there IMHO ), and asked for my version, as the biff's version was not entirely clear, I was to give her my version. I was just about to pack up & fack off, when the DOM strutted up & demanded to know why I didn't do as agreed, I handled him as well, and from each of them when they finished listening to my version of events, they all said "Well, we'll have to have a chat and see if we can sort this out tomorrow" to which I reminded them it's my day off tomorrow

and the biff said "Ok, we'll have to do it Saturday" the decent manager said more or less the same, and also happened to tell the DOM when I let him know about it, to which he said "I'm not in Saturday".....him, Lord Lucan? Whatever gave you that idea

Well , today was a day of rumours and a talk from the area manager.
The rumour of the day was that adam crozier had quit..... yes i know... we would be stupid to think we would get off that lightly :-(.... also a talk from the birmingham area manager proved "A pack of lies" ..

He stated in his talk and i quote "Royal mail do not think that postmen and women are underpaid... why do you think we are offering a payrise if we think you are underpaid ?" i mean do they think we are thick or what.... well don't answer that..... also to add to the days excitement... 4 local offices walked out over the "4 day strike payment reduction" in our wage packets this week... what chance do they stand ? .... is it me or is royal mail walking all over us and laughing at the same time... and then the managers are wondering why we are working to rule.... fecking cheek of it.... anyway ... my daily gripe is over. :cfo :lfo

I am on "light duties" all this week. My day today, was okay. Prepped lots of walks. Including a firms one that I could not make head nor tail of for a bit.
Manager couldn't do it either, which is why he palmed it off to me. I am the Red Adair of the frames!

Monday was a good day in terms of weight on delivery,last wed,thurs,frid,and sat was very heavy.Seems like we have levelled out now but we are not allowed out on delivery before 10.15am.which annoys everyone when they are used to going out at 9.00am.As the union rep i know how hard it is to create a happy workforce with all this executive action going on,but at the moment we just have to make sure all posties have the same finishing time no matter what contracted hours they work,so its just the start times that alter.This way everyone finishes for 2pm in our office.

Get an agreement with your manager that posties can use there cars if they take only 1 pouch out with them,have all other pouches weighed to 11kg and taken by drivers,thats what i have done in our office at tomorrows team brief.This way the postie will benefit long term by not struggling with overweight pouches and not run the risk of conduct code if he/she gets her car broken in to and extra pouches stolen

My dim's boss is coming out with me on saturday to see how long it takes me( see my earlier posting on later starts)
He thinks i will be finished well before 1pm

There is a small problem hubby goes to work at 11am on saturday no one to look after them.
Gave them a letter which i got from the later starts posting and he said can i get something sorted for this saturday

Buses run not very often, every half an hour, then they do a magic mystery tour all around my town, and to the hospital then down to the warwickshire village.
A good 35 min bus run.
Got the drop bag points sorted.
Do i use the bus or get dropped down there?(probably driven down their in his car) or use my car but go THE VERY LONG LONG WAY DOWN TO MY WALK

Got my new 318 for monday, Questioned the manager who wrote it, Thought he better know if i worked to the crap he had wrote i would be breaking the law as i am a driver ( They don't know what they are doing )
