Hello All, hoping for some advice please,
I’ve been on amended duties for some time now but recently the management thought I would be able to return to full duties but I have been told not to by my doctor and have supplied certificates stating so. So last week I was told I’ve been scheduled on the night shift, would that be alright to which I said that’s fine. Then today I find out I’m scheduled on nights again next week. I said to a manager that I can’t do Sunday night as I’m in London all day Sunday plus I have Physio appointment on Monday morning (have been having physio for a couple of months now on Monday’s at the same time which the management are aware of) plus I have to collect my child from school and look after him after picking him up so won’t be able to get any sleep. Manager refuses to switch my day off from Monday night to Sunday night. I said there is no way I can work Sunday night and continued to explain why to which he still refused plus said he is sick of people having doctor’s and hospital appointments in work time. I said well as it’s involving me looking after my child with no chance of any sleep I will take it on special leave (unpaid) to which he replied well you need to fill out a form for that and then it still has to be agreed to.
Just looking for some advice please, where do I stand? Can I book it as special leave?

Re: Changing day off / Special leave advice please
I would just take it, let them put it down as special leave or unauthorised. He's just being difficult he knows you won't be there Sunday so he will find a way to deal with it. Phone up Sunday night if he don't agree say you won't be in due to family problems
