how long on average till redeployed/ihr?

Been told by doc I'll be lucky to walk never mind do my job,is its game over being a postie for me.

How long on average does it take to be redeployed or given the ihr boot?
Been of about a month and a half ish and most recent fit note was u fit for work and for a couple of months.

Had oh assist referred etc and waiting to see one of their docs.

Getting bored now.

Looking at at least one operation and could be off for most of the year before I can walk without pain.

It will depend on the report that OH Assist give to RM after your face to face with them and the length of time required to return to your signed duty and if there are other duties you are capable of performing within the RM operation.
You would be aware that if the absence is to be long term and your posting gives this impression then RM are more than likely take the easier and cheaper route of IHR.
Dependant on your age and length of service and the prognosis of your condition is favourable then RM may take this into consideration in assessing your continued employment with RM and if they decide to go down the IHR route then they have various stages to overcome and you can also appeal their decision if you have doctors or specialist reports to support your appeal.
Whatever happens do not be pressurised into IHR if this is not wanted by you and get union backing through the various stages.

Cheers Ron,been told by doc that any job with walking is out for the rest of my life.

Sorry to hear you're suffering. You're not alone there must be hundreds, if not thousands, of Posties now who are struggling along with minor injuries which are just going to get worse. I've just recovered (touch wood) from a second 12 month spell of limping around with various foot injuries and living on paracetamol & Brufen! Not very nice I know.

I wonder how long it'll be before RM realise just how much money these delivery methods are costing them (in IHR). And let's face it that's the only thing that's going to influence them, they're NOT interested in our health problems. I'm waiting for some Fresh Faced Whizz Kid to suggest we start using Bicycles again! I know they got rid of them partly on H&S grounds but the ammount of injuries Posties are now picking up is ridiculous!
