What to wear?
Was at my induction today, got tomorrow off and start on wednesday, I was told not to wear jeans and to wear something very comfortable, now, judging by my limited wardrobe that would consist of tracksuit bottoms. Would this be allowed, since there seems to be a certain stigma about them in a workplace... Dont want to turn up looking like an undesirable on my first day

Re: What to wear?
The suggestion to not wear Jeans is not a sartorial one, its extremely good advice. Jeans are very difficult to work in when they get wet, you start walking like a cowboy because the chaffing is painful and usually in an area that's inappropriate to rub when in public.anonymous1994 wrote:Was at my induction today, got tomorrow off and start on wednesday, I was told not to wear jeans and to wear something very comfortable, now, judging by my limited wardrobe that would consist of tracksuit bottoms. Loose fitting cargo trousers are a good idea if you can get some today - on amazon they are less than £20.
Tracksuit bottom. It would depend on their look but I wouldn't think so. Do you have any longish shorts, old dark trousers (no holes though). You have to look presentable but not office work smart.

That's right TBT, "presentable" like http://www.britishpathe.com/video/dartm ... pics-share" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; not like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diCeubq_WXg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;TrueBlueTerrier wrote:The suggestion to not wear Jeans is not a sartorial one, its extremely good advice. I honestly do not have a clue what to wear... it seems like jeans may be the only option at the moment

Re: What to wear?
I wore jeans and trainers till I got the uniform, they were fine for me but definitely not the correct clothing when it rained, I was lucky though that when I started it was summertime, so not much rain. I also used a waterproof coat that I already had, I just refused to spend any money for a short term fix when I knew it wouldn't be too long for me to get the uniform.
