Hi colleagues,
I am looking for a transfer to London, was thinking Mount Pleasant would be the best to approach, however are there any good offices or helpful DOMs that you would recommend or offices that are short staffed (no laughing please)
thanks in advance

Re: london DOs
You could try the Deliveries at Mount Pleasant, but I think they are offering VRs and cutting jobs as they are in Processing. Any vacancies are likely to be part time.
Dingo recently said there are 120 unfilled part time vacancies in North West London. As RM are looking to increase PT in London DOs any vacancies in London will probably be PT.
And despite what some on here believe, you will be under just as much pressure in London as anywhere else. And with a lot higher living costs, especially housing costs.

Yes, higher living costs, especially housing costs, but that's largely covered by London Weighting and don't forget you're never far from theatres, museums, etc. with an extensive public transport system to get you there, not to mention the streets paved .......baldrick wrote:You could try the Deliveries at Mount Pleasant, but I think they are offering VRs and cutting jobs as they are in Processing. Re: london DOs
London Weighting does not cover the inflated London housing costs. Renting or buying somewhere to live in London is two or three times as much as most of the rest of the country, but we don't get paid two or three times the wages of the rest of the country.
Yes there are theatres, museums etc. But we don't have close access to countryside, mountains, moors, coast etc.
I would agree with you that we do have quite a good public transport system within London, though large sections of the Underground are closed down for maintenance almost every weekend.

Gents,
Thanks a lot for taking the time to post, I really appreciate it. I am only looking to live in London for a year or so, not too worried about the cost of living, I am very low maintenance and I plan to live in a shared house (squatting if I can !). Baldrick, North west London is exactly where I would like to be situated, are there offices in Hampstead, Golders Green etc.
thanks again fellas

Re: london DOs
RM are handing out EVR''s like there's no tomorrow in North London and as far as I know all the vacancies in the "N" postcodes are for part time duties. Can't be specific on the situation in NW London, but they have had a huge cull of staff due to the arrival of TNT however with their demise and the likely influx of their work back to RM it may be that full time staff may be required (yes I'm an optimist).
