On 5 Live Radio at 16:45ish there was a report from the Liverpool Strike Meeting. Postal workers voted to stay out until they see the Deal between Royal Mail and CWU negotiators. A worker spoke of their opposition to "flexibility" where you will not know what time you finish work i.e. casualisation of our jobs.

Im starting to feel liverpool have got the right idea!
We in east london followed union reccomendations to return to work from wildcat strikes.

Now managers are spouting lots of s**t about changing duty times and doing whatever they like, its really not looking good.

The fight is far from over for all of us

i have so much respect for these liverpool postmen,sacrificing all there pay for us,i reckon on wednesday when we went back into work we should have all walked out,i mysef not up for starting later and finishig later,peaple at our place just carried on working like nothing had happened which was very dissapointing as 1 of the reasons we were striking was later starts,i really hope some deal has been worked out and we go badk into work at our normal 5am

We should have a national campaign to follow Liverpool's lead if any management try to implement the agreement before the vote or in any other way change the conditions plus a national network of activists to support the Liverpool actions and any other rank and file wildcat action (actually real union action decided by the democratic majority), to campaign for a no vote and debate the way forward
We can't trust th eleaders- its action like this that will win. We need to make sure it's not isolated.

Have to state my complete admiration for all those who resist the implementation of early starts and fight the injustice and antagonism of the wage manipulation. do not underestimate the hardship involved for anyone who takes strike action , it has never been a decision I’ve taken lightly, so for these people to stick together and fight for there beliefs, makes me wish my office had displayed the same courage. No matter what happens nobody can say they didn’t try!

i think it would be a good idea if put a few quid in to help the liverpool boys out we all know how hard it is to lose pay and these boys are putting their selves in the firing line

Maybe early starts could be preserved, at least in large cities like Liverpool, if local mail could be segregated, and kept in the city? It would then be there ready for sorting in the mornings.
