Pretty sure the business is reporting a 9% decline in all letter traffic so it kind of stands to reason....
Nice of the WCM bods to take the credit though lol. :cuppa
I keep getting told WCM has died an inglorious and unlamented death. Put down your crayons and do some real work.
At HWDC WCM is still GROWING and they are going for gold. Accidents are regularly hidden and not reported, managers go to your house and try to drag you to work in order to avoid RIDDORs, staff are always found at fault after accident investigations and coduct codes are handed out on these grounds. The place is a mess, specially on night shift.

As long as I don't get the purple ones I might volunteer.

Och, when I saw the thread title I thought you were gonna say we'd found a way to send the written word without paper. Oh well, one day soon, fingers crossed.

All this means is what they've done is to sit someone by a sorting machine and when the machine spits out unfranked mail they then stamp them and feed them back into the machine!
So all they've done is bought some new hand stamps, as the old ones were borked after 499 years of use, and were worn out and no longer worked! lol

No need, all mech mail gets the stamps cancelled by the machine. Any mail rejected by the machine goes to manual sorting along with the stuff that was always manual

According to that article it's a flat sorting machine, only the larger MCs have them, due to the space that they take up

That is actually an IMP,with a conveyor belt bolted on the side for the transport of flats/parcels and manual letters to be segged and cancelled.

The FSM is at the back of the building at GMC,i guess the bloke pictured is there in his WCM role rather than his FSM duty?
same as it ever was...

Today I had to cancel stamps on at least a dozen letters and packets. This included "used" stamps being recycled from other envelopes etc and glued into place on envelopes!
if stamps are reused i think they have to be surcharged then? right? if in doubt then you should not surcharge but i thought you couldnt reuse stamps or am i wrong
