Save time with packets!

Every one I show this to agrees that it's a good idea. When you go for packets, instead of turning the envelope pre-write a slip left. Put that in the frame instead and when you come to it you knock, wait post and go. On Tuesdays and Saturdays this doesn't eat into the flyer as you don't lose any time. You gain up to 45 mins when you're out.

I usually do a squiggle on the nearest letter to remind me,i suppose i'm lucky as i dont get to do a lot of 739's.
Some of our guys do what you do though.
But the pisser is when you write them out,put 'em in the door start to walk away..........then the f***ers come to the door

This is extactly what I do - I also write them for recorded and specials. This saves trying to write them in the wind and rain.

Line manager doesn't like me doing it. But it saves time in the long run so I can't see his problem.

saw some of the guys doing it today,thought of you Docketman,couldn't be arsed so went for another coffee and a fag.
And yes,had 3 f***ers to write out on balconys with the wind and rain lashing around me

Glad to help. I was working in a monsoon today so it came in handy. Then I did a dropped bag and had to write one out on a soggy bit of card. Got three doors down and I heard them call me back. Lucky I had my earphones in so could pretend deafness! Get your shoes on and catch me up you lazy bugger!

My manager won't allow this, even when you know a customer won't be in because they are at work. We are now expected to attempt delivery to a neighbour or two.. or ten!

Just doorstep everything.
One of my customers has written to the DOM thanking me for making sure their kid got their birthday present. If I hadn't signed for it and left it in the blue bin he wouldn't have got it on time.
Gain 45 minutes? LOL - Try it my way and you gain over an hour.

There's one lady that does this in our office, she comes in ridiculously early though (like literally 3 hours early) then moans her duty is too big despite the fact she finishes really early everyday. I don't think I'd be out till half 10 - 11 if I was writing out 739's for all my packets!

and when someone complains, that'll be a nice easy way for the DOM to cut some hours from your office
