If it's any help I have heard that Asda is currently recruiting "home delivery drivers" if this is of any interest. Good luck anyway, and at least by leaving Royal Mail you will preserve your sanity.

Your letter was spot on, i only wish some of the casuals and part-timers here had as much dignity and respect for the job and their fellow workers, your leaving is ours and Royal Mails loss, i hope you find a new employer that values its workers, good luck mate...UNITY IS STRENGTH.

how sad. good luck to you in the future - you will no doubt be replaced by a 20 hour a week johnnie who just delivers already prep'd walks, has no idea that Mr S Smith lives at 83 and not 38. You all know what I mean.

In full agreement with all sentiments posted by my cwu brothers but I can't see the lad getting a good job reference from Royal Mail for any future employment opportunities.

The only job reference you get from RM is the period you were employed by the company and the grade you worked at - that is your whack and has been for at least 2/3 years. You might get a manager to do a personal one but even good managers will be wary I reckon especially at the moment.
