A union leader will accuse Ukip of being "downright dangerous".

Beryl Shepherd, president of the Communication Workers' Union will say the party led by Nigel Farage is anti-women, anti-diversity and anti the NHS.

She will tell the opening day of the CWU's annual conference in Bournemouth on Sunday: "They are no friends of the trades union movement.

"It is a sobering moment when we hear Ukip supporters trying to endear themselves to the working class and that some people are persuaded by their rhetoric.

"They are not the party of the working class," she will say, branding the party as "downright dangerous".

Much of the union's work could be "wasted" and its policies harder to deliver if any party other than Labour wins the general election, she will say.

UKIP not dangerous at all it's the CWU running scared of them that's all

You only have to read the comments by UKIP supporters in the Daily Mail to see what they are like.

Anyone who doesn't agree with them is branded a traitor. Any trade union member is a traitor. Anyone to the left of Thatcher is a traitor

I think the majority of their supporters are inherently racist, too quick to find a scapegoat for the Country's problems. Oh, they'll start with cutting immigration, then it will be deporting migrants that don't meet their criteria and then what? Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish kicked out of England? Privatised NHS? Police force made up only of ex-servicemen? Openly homophobic and xenophobic policies?

I'm not making these up, just read UKIP supporters posts in the comments on on-line articles.

Maybe UKIP supporters should start blowing up trains & buses or beheading servicemen ?

Looks like the SWP/UAF thugs are demonising the wrong people

No Savo, UKIP do enough to demonise themselves. They are a magnet for the unsavoury element in our society.

Any group the "demonises" a large group just because of the actions of a few of their members is only helping the few recruit more. All "ultra" left, right and religious groups are guilty of what amounts to self perpetuating propaganda.

Scenario: I am angry because a muslim committed an atrocity so I commit another by attacking a mosque. Young impressionable members of that mosque, that probably condemned the attack, feel persecuted and angry so they commit an act they see as defending muslims. Another person is angry by that act and the circle starts all over again. Even in America the land of the free, you have pro-life killing people in defence of the unborn. Its a mad world we live in.

Just an opinion but leaving the EU will be a backward step for workers rights. Certainly can't see a UKIP/Conservative alliance keeping them. Indeed such luminaries are the institute of directors have already said
Alexander Ehmann, IoD head of government and Parliamentary affairs, says: “Priorities for abolition include the Agency Workers Directive and the Information and Consultation of Employees Directive. The IoD would also argue for substantive simplification of the Working Time Directive and discrimination laws.”

Other directives that the IoD is examining before deciding on how, if at all, it would like them amended include the Transfer of Undertaking or Acquired Rights Directive, Collective Redundancies Directive and various directives related to equal rights.

Ehmann adds that IoD members also have concerns about domestic employment laws such as those related to unfair dismissal, parental leave and the default retirement age: “From the EU, priorities are discrimination law, record-keeping requirements regarding working time and rules around equal pay of agency workers.”

Not forgetting the The Federation of Small Businesses who
in a recent submission to the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry, listed 10 pieces of EU-derived legislation that its members find the most burdensome. These included the Working Time Directive, “one of the most expensive EU regulations to be introduced in the UK that has created huge administrative and compliance costs for small businesses”.Regulations on self-employed drivers’ working time and temporary agency workers also made the FSB’s top 10.
One employment Lawyer warned:
“Even if the UK left the EU, several entrenched and perceived ‘rights’ that have come from Europe would still be expected by UK employees,” Clarke says. “Many have been transposed into employment contracts and policies of organisations.”

Some of these rights include:

maternity entitlement;
discrimination protection;
holiday entitlement;
agency workers’ rights; and
data protection principles.

Its happening all over Europe! People want out of the toxic eu & want to run their own countries themselves! Did you not see the result of our last European election?? The people are speaking & its not if but when Britain is out of the eu!
And as far as the main parties go,they are finished! Its plain as day that labour nor tory will win an outright majority, the best they can hope for is to work with another party who they cannot stand!
Politics are changing,the way people think is changing,millions have had enough of lies/broken promises & the working man being sold down the river!
The momentum has swung now & its only a matter of time before the people are heard at the ballot box,it might not be this election but it will happen as soon as people realize a party like ukip is not a wasted vote as millions are voting for them!
