I have been a reserve since the start of the year and I haven't had a long Weekend off in that time. I have been on a duty for 4 weeks now covering sickness and next week I am due the long weekend but have now been moved onto something different and my day off is now Monday.
Just want to check if you are actually entitled to them if you are a reserve. Some colleagues say I am and one of the line managers say I am not and I have missed my rep today.
Can someone please give me some info on this. Cheers!

I was a reserve for 10 years and never got the 'duty' long weekend.

In my office, as a reserve, you are entitled to the same amount of Saturdays off per year as a walk holder ( not necessarily in any pattern though) but you have no entitlement to a long weekend 
To get a long weekend it's a case of lucking out and being on the right walk at the right time, but as you say they seem to have a habit of moving you just before your due one .

I took my manager to task over this and eventually he yielded and I got my long weekends just the same as everyone else in the office.

I'm going to have a word with my rep tomorrow as he is pretty switched on and a good union rep. It's not even so much the long weekend but I don't even seem to get saturdays off. I've had 2 saturdays this year and both have been annual leave days.

According to our area rep we are all entitled to one long weekend in 6 like everyone else. Dom has put the onus on us to remind them when it's due. Non of us ever get them though.

I'm having a fight about this at the moment. I was promised on several occasions that it would be possible for all our reserves to have a rotational day off. Now all of a sudden I've been told it can't be done. I understand that if you're put on a job for a week the day off is already decided, however I don't see why it isn't possible for people to move around to cover each other. Just takes a little effort. Seems to be more of a case of 'can't be arsed' as opposed to 'can't be done'. It's unfair that a handful of people in the office should have to put up with being unable to structure their lives properly. Well, it's just plain wrong
