we have just had a Collections Review and the driving content of most people's jobs are now reduced by almost 50% . we have a new manager moving in responsible for Collections and the Platform but he is operating from under the umbrella of the Processing Function. Rumour has it, that the 740 drivers will come under Logistics . its looking like the end of the Distribution Function to me

Dedicated collection drivers are going to become an endangered species in my opinion. What does the almost 50% of non driving time now do?

yes I think you are correct. in some of our cases but not all, the time is now taken up by warehouse/platform duties but it wont be long before we are asked to perform processing duties. I guess some will ask what's the problem doing that ? and you cant argue with that I suppose. its just the way it has been engineered and I remember when I joined years ago , one of the good things about RM was the chance to move around the functions ," a change is as good as a rest " , as they say.
