Thats what i was told, mate................Dozier negotiated the DSA deal but fxxked it up. I was under the impression that we lose about 5p per item, thats why his bonus was only £250,000 . Now he wants to recoup that money from US, then he can get a bigger bonus....THE ARSE WIPE :cfo :cfo :cfo :cfo :cfojackdaw wrote:The DSA prices were negotiated and signed off on by Adam Crozier, postcomm only steps in if there is trouble agreeing a price so we are losing money because the man in charge is useless!!

DSA - losing money?
I'm not convinced that we lose money on DSA - but the problem is that RM accounts and as far as I know the latest ones have still to be published - will keep this area shrouded in mystery cos if we are making a profit then Postcomm will want it reduced.
That's why Postcomm are pressing like hell for accounts to be published at least they were the last time I had insomnia and read their site.

I'm only going on what I'm told. You're only going on what you're told. Unless we were in the room during the negotiations, all of us are only going on what we're told, and therefore, know 'feck all' about anything.
If ONLY people on the frontline are qualified to talk about the frontline, then ONLY non-frontline people are qualified to talk about non-frontline operations with ANY authority.

Re: Final Mile Price
cheeky feckers, how can it be too high when we are losing 6p per Item ? we making a loss, we may as well cancel the contract pay a penalty (this would be cheaper) or renegotiate, if they refuse to agree a new price we can withdraw our services so in that time , the DSA clients will have to go to Postcomm, to get an new agreement, in the meanwhile their mail is not being delivered.mailjock wrote:From memory Postcomm did not set the first DSA agreement price - this was done by RM and the access company. I think that original agreement became the benchmark for the other DSA agreements.
Postcomm site states: 'Access agreements are commercial agreements, between Royal Mail and other postal operators, negotiated independently of Postcomm. . . . However, where companies are unable to agree with Royal Mail on a fair price for access, Postcomm is able to intervene to ensure that access is made available on appropriate terms.'
I know what some of the DSA mailers have made representations to Postcomm that the 'access price' is too high and they wanted a reduction but I haven't kept up to speed on those discussions as strike has taken up so much time.
The Public needs to be educated about about DSA, they are quiet ignorant and the look of surprise on my customers face is a picture when I expalin what DSA realy is.
