Ipswich to Chelmsford and Norwich

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

I have been told on the QT that Chelmsford have been told, today, that Ipswich 1C is being migrated to Chelmsford between May and August this year.

Inward IP mail to remain until April 2016 at the earliest when it will be reviewed as to retaining inward operation or demotion to MPU. This will depend on the effectiveness of Early shift duty structure realignments.

70% of outward mail to go to Chelmsford, 30% to Norwich MC.

Ipswich MC to be used where possible as a site to trial new ways of working, layouts, procedures etc under the AFG agreement, with full CWU support. So a trial site for WCM ideas probably.

I really can't see why they can't keep Ipswich as an IVO as the area is too big for CM & NR

Is it a suitable location to have any DOs relocated into it if it becomes an MPU?
