Two noisy Derry post men are to be “gagged” next month.
Those who know Martin Dunn and Don Redden believe that is an impossible task.
Well, they will find out on Saturday, 23 May, when the chatty duo will take a vow of silence in aid of cancer charity Action Cancer.
The two will be “posted” in Foyleside Shopping Centre that afternoon to take donations from members of the public.
Speaking about the fundraiser Don said: “Some people would say that Martin and I have the gift of the gab, so a sponsored silence where we have to shut up for the day will genuinely be a massive challenge for the both of us! All money raised will be invested into providing cancer services in the city; we’re hoping the local people dig deep and give to a worthy cause.”
Martin said: “We’d like to thank Royal Mail for kick starting our fundraising with a donation of £200. Don and I will be raised on a podium in the shopping centre so you won’t be able to miss us! Come on down to Foyleside on 23rd May to have a laugh at us and remember to bring your spare change!”
