delay in recruitment in the north

i had my interview with royal mail in early feb 2015, passed it and passed checks, waited for the 14 working days to pass. only to find out there is a delay in recruitment up north and i will be updated in the near future, anybody had this problem before

Hey Babble,

I am 'Up North' and have just got my start date for next week so there must be some movement.

I originally applied in November and had my interview in December (put on waiting list) and have only now got my start date for Mid April. I also had my security checks completed in February and had to wait a few weeks after I had passed the checks for the start date. Its a long wait but I think most people get there in the end.

Nervous now - some of the posts on here make me wonder if its worth turning up haha.

Been doing 12 mile walks carrying 10Kg for the last few months so hope this makes starting not as much of a shock.

You should hear soon I would imagine.

Hey mate,

Thanks for the reply, had interview early February pretty much nailed the interview, was told I had the job and had to wait for the security checks which I passed two weeks ago, then had the email about the delay. By reading ur reply hopefully something it changing as currently out of work and need to sort out childcare, I'm in Newcastle where are u based?

Hey,

I am in Edinburgh - I emailed RM the week after passing the security checks and got a reply saying that there was a delay as well. I then got a email with start date and a call from Sheffield last week with start date so roughly 3 weeks after passing the security checks. I am not sure how it all works but hopefully you will be similar!

I applied in Jan had interview March got my Id badge five weeks ago now and still haven't hd a shift yet, is there anyway of contacting the gateshead sorting office and enquiring about shifts?
