Welcome, moved to Blue Shirts, where we usually put bollox right.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

D2D is live mail, If there's no time to prep it then it's not likely to get prepped unless the magic fairies are going to do it.
It's not extra time, it's just time, it's in the IWT, in the D2D column.

Are managers getting thickerer or something? :cuppa

Very much so Fish, but also the worrying factor is that Rep's don't know or how to challenge anymore, sad I know but true :wave :wave

They're already built in to your duty's prep time.

What do you mean 'anymore'? We've never had extra time. When we got paid for them, we had no time at all, and now we don't get paid for them, they are built into the workload. If the total workload for the day takes you past your finish time, you claim or cut off. No need for 'extra' time.

6 D2Ds in my place last week, 120 per day was taking around 25 mins to nest them all and a further 7mins to put them in the frame. Without nesting you could add another 15 mins to that, plus another 20 mins out on delivery filtering through them all.

It's massively underestimated the time they take.

If they're over the amount that was set for prepping then you should get extra prep.

It's a simple position, like all the other mail on your frame it takes as long as it takes, you prep your frame and then you make the call whether you have enough time to deliver it and if you don't want the overtime use the overrunning deliveries procedure.

Remember any times quoted are resource figures not performance standards and if it takes you 10 minutes longer than the figures quoted as it sometimes does with awkward D2D as long as you aren't taking the piss you shouldn't take any grief for it, If you do see your rep.
