Damage to electricity box in Hardwicke after deliveryman forces parcel inside

Investigations have been launched after a delivery man allegedly damaged an electricity box in Hardwicke by forcing a parcel inside.
New mum Amy Bryan returned to her home in Rosedale Close to find the door of her white electricity box had been snapped open and a parcel stuffed around the live wires.
A 'sorry we missed you' note left by Hermes said the parcel was left 'in electric box' in handwriting.
Amy, 27, who is on maternity leave, said the Hermes courier had plenty of safer options including leaving the parcel with a neighbour.
Amy is now fighting back against what she says is poor service but accused Hermes of not taking her complaint seriously. The company, however, said it is launching a full investigation into what happened.
"The delivery man would have had other options like leaving it behind a bin or with the neighbours," said Amy, who lives in the property with her husband and one-year-old daughter.
"They didn't even check to see if the neighbours were home.
"It is disgusting behaviour. They can not damage somebody's property and leave evidence of it but then not do anything about it.
"We have since tapped the electricity box back together but it was flapping around the whole time we were out.
"It is a safety hazard."
The incident happened on Saturday while Amy and her family were out.
Amy says she has rung the delivery company about 15 times in the last 48 hours to no avail.
She has also reported it to the police as criminal damage.
"I won't give up until something is done," she said.
"I work in customer services and I would never treat a customer like this."
Amy, who rents the property, said she is worried that her landlord will find her in breach of her tenancy agreement because of the damage.
"We have called around for quotes to fix the damage and it ranges from £20 to £120," she said.
"If we get kicked out of this property we will have nowhere to go.
"The issue may sound trivial but it is criminal damage and it could have a knock-on effect for my family."
A spokesman for Hermes said: "We take all complaints extremely seriously.
"However as this only happened on Saturday we are still in the process of a full investigation of this alleged incident and are waiting to speak to the courier involved.
"We have been in contact with Ms Bryan and will continue to keep her informed."
Maybe it could catch on.
