No stamp of approval for Royal Mail plans in Louth

Alterations to a Royal Mail delivery office have received objections because of the materials chosen for the work.

Royal Mail Group has applied to alter the existing building on 15 Eastgate in Louth to include a replacement entrance door and side screen as well as putting up a boundary fence.

Louth Town Council's planning and environment committee was concerned about the materials which they said were too industrial for a conservation area.

The committee did support an application for planning permission and listed building consent for a garage to be used for storing fruit and vegetables at Stevenson's on Eastgate.

Members also supported the siting of a storage container to be used by scouts for storing equipment at Louth Youth Centre on Park Avenue and an extension to an existing building at 3 Westmour Units on Warwick Road to provide additional floor space.

Councillors also supported an extension at 2 Gospelgate Mews to provide an enlarged kitchen and dining room as well as an application for internal alterations at 88 Ulgate to include double doors and blocking up of an internal door.
