Why worry?
Nobody else seems to be giving a s**t.
Politicians.
Management.
Senior management.
Senior union officials.
The great british public.
Ofcom.
Not a flying f**k is being given by any of them.
Chill and enjoy the ride.....

Re: The future
It all depends what county you live in. I know MY union in the county I work in do care and are working hard towards that eventual day. I also know that Dave Ward has declared war with Ofcom.fishtank wrote:Why worry?

I totally agree with you about management and ironically the general public. But to be fair, for the general public's part, it almost all down to ignorance and lack of media publications.

Re: The future
I think its an age thing. If you are in you are
20 - 35 Get trained to do something else asap because there are big changes ahead, and deliveries now for alot of years is gonna cripple you anyway
35-50 still hope to move on if you choose, but tough, as you are probably RM institutionalised and know its harsh outside and still have dependants and mortgage to pay. And who knows things could well trundle on for many years yet as they are , as the pace of change at RM is not exactly quicksilver!
50+ I guess you are pretty much stuck but probably feel you are better off patching up your battered body and toughing it out till you can retire - hopefully before t + cs are too badly affected.

Re: The future
I can see the job reduced to about 3/4 days a week, the union agreeing to a cut in wages and monthly pay and we will be lapsing on our 12hr duties..............meanwhile we will still be awash with managers

Too many tossbags in the job on both sides, which will be firms downfall.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: The future
The pay isn't really all that good unless you are FT, and there are fewer FT jobs to go round.loverman shabba wrote:i think if the pay wasnt so good most posties would tell rm where to shove their job. no point worrying about it at all its not gonna change anything rm is going down the shitter whichever way you look at it
