Original one which enlarges now a global announcement.baldrick wrote:I did post it before, and I think TBT has put it somewhere, but people aren't doing a search for it.clashcityrocker wrote:Shouldn't the VR Ready Reckoner be a stickie somewhere for ease of reference?
It seems like a lot of people need to consult it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

If the CWU is all about protecting full time jobs, why is it that FT jobs appear to be getting chopped this year to make savings, instead of redundancy packages for PT staff as a priority?

Because they know the full time workers would be going mental if VR was only being offered to part time workersIloveMYredTROLLEY! wrote:If the CWU is all about protecting full time jobs, why is it that FT jobs appear to be getting chopped this year to make savings, instead of redundancy packages for PT staff as a priority?

Re: Royal Mail offering VR with pay in lieu
Never thought i'd see the day when so many people in royal mail were so desperate to get out.
got told yesterday the VRs in our office were all off again, i can't say i'm to disappointed if as many go as it seems want to go the flood gates are gonna be wide open for those zero hr contracts. And to my mind the more of them get taken on the more the job will go down hill.

Re: Royal Mail offering VR with pay in lieu
ChelseaBlue, what exactly do you want to fight? If office hours are reduced - it is most likely because there is not enough work in that particular office.
Almost all office will have some sort of Revision this year or next (if they can find enough planners)... If your office is short of staff or working beyond it natural capabilities/efficiency(take out those that work for nothing), then you should have nothing to worry about.
The VR issue is more related to just some offices and Mail Centres not many offices that have gone through Revision/s and have a healthy level of part timers/full timers.
To be honest, some posties will actually like to be offered VR regardless of what happens to the office after they have left.

Something else to think about, if it is only full timers that get redundancy packages...

Re: Royal Mail offering VR with pay in lieu
We all lose hours every year. 5% per office, but RM said just before the end of January that mail has declined so much since Christmas there will be bigger savings this year.Chelseablue wrote:Are we all losing hours in our offices this year ?
It's like they think we're all half wits, of course there's going to be nothing on towards the end of January when the sales have finished and nobody gets paid for another week or two. Since then it's been pretty garbage most days with loads of bulk postings already - we had bulk postings Thur, Fri and Sat this week!
