LIVERPOOL DISPUTE

Post by wango1960 »

I HEARD ON THE LOCAL RADIO TALKS ARE TO TAKE PLACE TODAY LOCALLY TO GET US BACK TO WORK, WE KNOW AT SOME POINT THIS WEEK WE WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO GO BACK, FOR THE CWU NATIONALLY AND WHATEVER AGREEMENT THEY HAVE MADE.
AS FRIDAY'S MEETING SHOWED, THIS BRANCH, MERSEYSIDE AMAL IS 100% TOGETHER, WETHER IT BE DELIVERY,THE MAILCENTRE, OR DRIVERS, THIS BRANCH STANDS TOGETHER AND WE GO BACK TOGETHER. I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT THIS WALKOUT HERE AND IN LONDON AND SCOTLAND WAS ORCHESTRATED BY SENIOR MANAGERS WITHIN ROYAL MAIL TO BRING THE NATIONAL DISPUTE TO A HEAD AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE WORKED.
WHEN WE GO BACK, NO DOUBT WE WILL BE SUBJECT TO VENOM AND ABUSE IN AN ATTEMPT TO BREAK US, THEY WILL TRY TO BREAK US PHYSICALLY BY TAKING WORK OUT OF LIVERPOOL AND GETTING RID OF JOBS, BUT ONE THING THEY WILL NEVER BREAK IS OUR SPIRIT AND OUR SOLIDARITY WHICH HAS BEEN RENEWED BY THIS DISPUTE.
ONE OTHER THING THAT HAS BEEN RENEWED IS MY PERSONAL FAITH IN THE SOLIDARITY OF THIS UNION NATIONALLY, NOT THE EC BUT YOU PEOPLE YOURSELVES ON THIS WEBSITE AND THE SUPPORT WE HAVE HAD OFF YOU PEOPLE UP AND DOWN THE COUNTRY, IT HAS BEEN MUCH APPRECIATED BY US ALL IN MERSEYSIDE AND WE THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS.
WE BELIEVE THAT WHEN WE GO BACK CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS MAY BE SINGLED OUT FOR DISCIPLINARY ACTION DURING THE COURSE OF THIS INDUSTRIAL ACTION, IF THIS DOES HAPPEN I AM SURE THERE WILL SHOUTS THROUGHOUT MERSEYSIDE OF [ I'M SPARTACUS! ]
BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL

I think if some kind of agreement wasnt reached friday, we all would of followed your example and im pretty sure the unofficial action would have spread nationwide!! I not sure how they can reach an acceptable agreement, but we ll have to wait for the details, but a major part of it better be that all ongoing reprisals against union officials and workers over strike related incidents must dropped if this is not the case then their can be no deal, simple as that :Applause :Applause

WE are the union!!! Thank you wildcats!!! :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :cfo :lfo

I'm pretty sure that's why an 'agreement' was reached - to stop it spreading. Liverpool are doing a fine job staying out, some half-baked shitty deal shouldn't stop the rest of the country from supporting in them in the only way that means anything.

My branch secretary told us that the National deal protects anyone involved in unofficial action on their return to work.
I know i speak for everyone in our office Welwyn Garden City and take our hats off to you lads and lassies that are out or were out that i am sure pushed both sides further towards an agreement.
Its easy for people to spout about their principles its a damn lot harder doing something about them!!

i would like to show my thanks to the Liverpool, London and Scottish lads and lasses who took unofficial action. i have no doubt in my mind that your brave action concentrated the minds of RM management and the Government and although there must be something in the deal for RM they now know we wont lay down without a fight. :Applause .
