We’ve reviewed our ID policy to make the collections process easier – both for customers and colleagues.

Our aim was to strike a balance between being easy to do business with, and protecting the mail.

Following feedback from you and our customers, the ID Policy has been updated to give people two clear options when collecting:

1. If the person collecting has ID for the person the item is addressed to, then the card and one other piece of ID from the list are required to release the item

2. If the person collecting the item is not able to bring ID for the person the item is addressed to then they need the card plus two pieces of additional ID for themselves.

This change to ID policy will come into effect next Monday (16 February 2015).

Asking for two pieces of ID will not solve he issue of fraud or security of mail - pointless, but if you want to collect someone elses' mail then you should do as told.

ID for the person who has the mail and another ID for the person (if different) collecting mail is reasonable...
