I'll be happy to goto monthly wages and wageslips, once we are all clocking in and out on machines.

Maybe in the old days but most of payroll is automated now, It would save on payslips but that's about it.
Not entierly true, lots of companys are moving to monthly to cut back on admin and work.

i find it alot easier to break your bills down weekly by breaking them up into 4 separate weeks and freeing up whatever is left on a weekly basis. Also like others have said the amount of times you get screwed over on a weekly basis with overtime is unreal, so monthly would be just worse, its one of the few remaining things i like about |RM :nana

why would you want monthly pay ?
Saving for privatised company on admin .... more savings more bonus for work force.. my DOM says monthly wages will come with in couple of years, and sweetner would be £500 lump sum .

None of my bills are weekly. I'd be fine with monthly pay, all bills paid in one hit then you budget for the rest of the month.

There's the problem though, some people can barely be trusted to tie their own shoelaces never mind organise their money.

I suspect that by 2019 when the agreement between RM and CWU that was setup before privatisation comes to an end RM will want as many people as possible to be franchise holders so the weekly pay v monthly will be redundant as RM will want to pay on a monthly basis and probably a month in arrears
