Funny that the two side where miles apart. Then all of a sudden a deals been struck.
We all know why we came out on strike. Lets not forget how changes are sneaked in later.
More Team Talk Lies sessions coming up I fear.
I've 25 years pension and still want to retire at 60 and not lose 5% a year
I've a season ticket for my club I'm not ripping up.
I've a life outside Royal mail. ( perhaps the above season ticket bit may lead to think otherwise)
I believe we will still get stuffed on most issues.

The leaks about this deal, effectivley accepting flexibility in any office which doesn't have a really strong union, looks WORSE than when we started in June. I can't believe that our leaders want us to accept this. It will mean:
Phase 1: Weak offices get bullied into sweeping floor with broom up arse while sorting.
Phase 2: Groups of other offices accept slightly less horrible conditions for fear of going to the level of the worst.
Phase 3: Offices still holding out are disciplined by new national deal which accepts flexible working.
PLEASE email a PEC member you know and tell them not to vote for the deal if this is true. THE PEC MUST BE FORCED TO REJECT THIS.
Ive not got any idea of what is in the offer TBH but i have said to the guys in my office that i am not prepared to lose hundreds of pounds worth of wages for a shitty deal
Keep in mind that the Union have been flat refusing shitty deal after shitty deal on our behalf. I am stunned that people believe that after the period of calm when Ward and co flat refused another RM bullshit deal and took us all out again the Union would suddenly accept something as s**t. Have faith and see what the actual deal is before you go wishing for another strike.

Oh ye of mighty faith! The union have been refusing the SAME shitty deal but think of the political implications here. These people aren't stupid, they are well versed on what the shop floor feelings are and knew that there was a great feeling of chagrin when they called off the first strikes. They are well removed though from the hardship of losing strike pay, having their working and social life disrupted. They may well think we are ready to put the troubles behind us and accept a deal, any deal in fact. The wild cats in Liverpool and London and Glasgow and some others are to be congratulated for demonstrating the true feeling of the shop floor. It's just a pity that there wasn't more offices prepared to stand up and be counted. I think you'd be wise to be ordering the KY in bulk because I think the leadership have a feeling they will have enough waverers for a YES vote and I wouldn't take bets against it.
I can't believe how daft some people are, we have'nt even seen the offer and some are already saying no. On that basis we will be on strike right up until Royal Mail goes bankrupt and we ALL lose our jobs. Grow up and get a sense of perspective, look to see whats on offer and give it proper consideration. Listening to rumour mongers is'nt going to help any of us. Making up what may be in the pay deal and spreading it as truth is wholly irresponsible. I'm not a fan of Leighton or Crozier but in the end even they have to offer us a reasonable deal.

a strange presumption when you dont even know what the deal is
To be fair it's quite embarrassing some of the posts on here regarding slagging off the deal...........................................although we don't know what it (properly) is yet
If it's s**t i'll vote no,oh when i know what the deal is that is.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I think this link is a fair indication of the "deal" - looked at logically it is the only outcome possible from the timescale involved.
Mr Hutton said he hoped the dispute, which is estimated to have cost Royal Mail more than £200m, could now be brought to an end.
"This is a sensible deal and everyone is hoping the union will support this on Monday," he said on BBC One's Andrew Marr show.
It's funny how people are slagging the deal off before they have seen what is on offer, also the same people basicaly excepted flexibility last wednesday when they went into work, instead of showing some bollox like Liverpool and London.

Really? I have every admiration for the wildcats but I would like to remind you it was HQs advice to GO IN and at the TIMES RM ORDERED.
phantomshare wrote:Just b/c HQ tell you, and RM ordered, doesn't make it right thing to do, sometimes you got to think for yourself and decide what you think is right.
And just because HQ think it is a suitable agreement doesn't make it so. You need discipline in a strike situation the later starts were never an issue because many places already started at a later time. It is flexibility and pensions, that will be decider.
