Yes, we can go 3 or 4 weeks with none. Don't think we've ever had 7 lots, or even 6. Some weeks they threaten us with 5 but some either get cancelled or just don't turn up

1 or 3 lots when we do get them

I was told by the office rep that they are struggling to get contracts. As someone else pointed out,it seems to be the same leaflets.

Also bare in mind that D2D are targeted for specific areas. As in, if you work/live in a area that has been deemed as a rich area, you won't get any where near as many D2D's.
Property prices are generally a good guide as to whether you work/live in a rich area.

Indeed, D2Ds are of course targeted for specific areas.
Rural Postcode Districts, deemed as a rich area, may get five Door To Doors a week while urban Postcode Districts, from the same Delivery Office, may get just one or two.
Those on town deliveries thankfully don't seem to realise that all of us with rural deliveries spend a higher proportion of the week preparing Door To Doors, with a :cuppa , and consequently less time out on delivery. :nana :nana

If I'm reading your post right, you're saying the posher areas don't get as many D2Ds?
That's definitely not how it works for us. The nicer areas get hammered with em. Thick booklets and all kinds of shite. It's the main reason I'd
never swap onto one of those duties, even if management got their heads out and started advertising vacant walks.

Not the case at all in our office... the rurals get far less D2D's than any other duties.

That is exactly what I am saying.
In my office, we have 3 counties. The town itself where I work was deemed a good commuters town and as such, the property prices went through the roof and they can't build new properties quick enough to keep up with the demand. The same town barely gets 1 D2D a week, but most weeks get non. Yet from the same office, I do rurals and I get hammered every single week, the same applies to the other guys who deliver to a different county from the same office.

also you have to factor in that rurals usually have a lot less calls due to the distance between them around 300 in our depot and the town once again in our depot 600 to 700 calls but we all get the same (not given of course ) time to put them in ,I had 5 this week and the same next week will take around 1/2 hour every day to put in.
given 10 mins before being call up to the IPS

The more you have to prep then the less time you will have for delivery.

My duty has good and bad houses on it. The duty holders in the best areas are pulling their hair out and management are resorting to prepping the D2Ds for them sometimes.
If we get 3 lots on one board and 1 or 2 on the other, it's a bad week.
