Of course he could "put something nasty in the post" but, with 15,000 Post Offices and 150,000 post boxes, so can anybody.

Come on! You know what he means - he would be in a position to interfere with mail after checks have been done, when it's far less likely to be noticed, like a baggage handler loading the airplane.

Breivik was the security services' worst nightmare, the 'lone wolf'. This is what you get by hounding and marginalizing legitimate opposition or protest by intimidation and dissemination. It'll shut most people up, agreed, but will make some irrationally angry and more determined. He actually makes references to this several times. It is good practice in any democracy to give all sides an avenue of expression and keep debate in the open.

For the record, my 'colloquialism' is commonly used where I live and is exacty that; a hybrid and quick way of saying 'Islamists' with no weighting to offend. Now it will be eventually added to the state 'no-say' list us British cannot utter in our own language.

Of course I could always learn a different language and abuse English-speakers with far, far worse within their earshot and laugh at their ignorance....

It's not a "new low" in the slightest, but this thread is a perfect example of how anything connected to Islam is (totally unreasonably) afforded different rules and considerations from other religions/ethnicities.
We (in the West) are in grave danger of losing our hard-won rights to (relatively) free speech by the back door due to the media's supposed ability to, and fear of, offending Islam, and that leads to tragedies as diverse as Charlie Ebdo, Rochdale, Oxford and the rest.
Fair enough if you think I was having a pop at your little bud, but these double standards shouldn't pass unquestioned. "Sauce for the goose..." and all that.

I have to agree with tman on this occasion. We are being smothered by political correctness not just concerning muslims but quite innocent statements in defence of ethnic minority actors/actresses not being given their fair share of work by Cumberbatch who said "coloured" instead of black, they might not all be black but many shades in between. I think we should take a harder line and say quite categorically if you don't like it leave.

This is just going to go on and on but if you view it from the establishments viewpoint it is quite clear.

The establishment says leave this problem to us and any ordinary person speaking out will just be viewed as a trouble maker and we will arrest them.

The lid of this can can only be held on for so long, I wonder when this whole situation regarding Islamic bigotry is going to go BANG.

I only hope normal law abiding British muslim citizens are not damaged in the cross fire.

Islam can be interpreted in many different ways and most of the Islamic populace of the UK live their lives by the peaceful verses.
A very small minority concentrate on the violent verses, the violently expansive verses, you have to know the difference.

Then you know who is who and what is what.

But let me tell you this, the whole of the Islamic community feels under threat at the moment, I feel that I am walking on thin ice when I speak to any of them.
Much easier to just chat to an Indian or a Sikh, you can say what you like and they don't take offence.
