Whatever the weather shorts are the order of the day for postman Steve Barrett who delivers the mail in the central villages of the Blackmore Vale.

Steve, who lives in Sherborne, was pictured in the village of Hazelbury Bryan which experienced its first snowfall of the year today, Tuesday.

Steve said: “I get in and out of my van 400 times a day and long trousers would only hinder me. I have been delivering the mail most of my working life and even if the temperature falls below minus eight, the point at which I begin to feel the cold, I still wear shorts.”

To be honest I'm surprised they let him out looking like a scruffy bugger. Let's face it, it's not really the image Royal Mail want you to project to the public is it.
We've got posties in our DO who still wear shorts but they don't look as scruffy as him.
