I've seen it happen before. Everyone will get over it and life goes on. I guess he chose the duty by the seniority system so he will lose it by the same.

Chetnole village postman of 24 years 'saved'

Villagers in Dorset who ran a campaign to save their postman of 24 years are claiming victory after Royal Mail said he could keep his round.
Residents of Chetnole, near Sherborne, made banners and placards in a bid to stop Mickey Leak being replaced by a more senior colleague.
However, his replacement pulled out.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) claims villagers scared the new postman away and have described the outcome as "disgraceful".
Chetnole resident Sue Morgan, who was involved with the campaign, said villagers were "delighted".
"We just wanted to keep the man who knew us all and did such a professional job in the village," she said.
A Royal Mail spokesman said, due to the modernisation of the postal service, changes had been made including increased automation of mail, the introduction of new equipment, methods of delivery and working practices.
"These changes have been essential for the ongoing provision of an efficient and affordable universal service obligation," he said.
As part of the changes, he said senior members of staff took priority when it came to the reassignment of delivery duties.
