To: The Branch Secretary
Dear Colleague
Membership Subscription rates from 1st April 2015
The NEC took a decision in November 2014 to defer the increase in membership subscriptions due
in January 2015. However at the November meeting the NEC in accordance with CWU Rule 11.5.1 has decided to increase subscriptions of all members by 2.75%.
From 1st April 2015, CWU subscriptions will therefore be as set out below.
In order that members are charged the correct subscription it is important that all new members record their weekly working hours in the space provided on the application form as well as recording their employer.
Any enquiries relating to this LTB should be addressed Tony Kearns, Senior Deputy General Secretary.
Yours sincerely
Tony Kearns
Senior Deputy General Secretary.

Under CWU Rule 11.5.1 they're putting the subs up - now who knows what all the rules are under the CWU sun and maybe they are just made up to suit whatever purpose is required. Take the one that gave Billy a £29k payout for untaken holidays, bet nobody knew about that one til it happened and how many others have had it since? :cuppa

This could be good news for the membership they could be from Aldi or Lidl, on the other hand they may have been expensive foreign imports, :hmmmm now which one could it be considering no expense is spared - of course they could have been laced with something to make the news seem more palatable until of course the "biscuits" wore off and your members can't understand why you've agreed to a load of crap.

The guys an idiot General - Tesco Value indeed he must think you guys are the same as the rank and file - I think it's Rule 11.25.31 - "All meetings with reps and above shall have only McVities branded biscuits, Greggs sandwiches, cakes and slices - on no account must a Pound Bakery be used. Members must not bring their own sustenance as all food and drink will be provided free of charge provided by the no marks on the shop floor" - BD obviously hasn't read the rule book :wave

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Back on topic....
increase subscriptions of all members by 2.75%.
It's embarrassing enough that the union is hiking up the subs by 2.75% given that inflation is down below 1%....but how much more embarrassing will it be if the business is allowed to do a backslide on the 2.8% pay rise because inflation is below 1%.....
Sneaky feckers getting it in first. :cuppa
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
