First Time Delivery/Delivery to Neighbour - Nominated Neighb

No mention of whether the neighbour wants to be nominated. I have several neighbours who are getting fed up with endless receiving things for the bloke next door who is never in.

I was off recently so this is second hand info but we had a suit visit our office last week, he called 2 of the lads into the office at random, said that we should not be bringing any parcels back, he told them that we all need to knock on every house in a street until the parcel is gone. The 2 posties raised issues common in our postcode, like neighbors who work nights, unemployed people who sleep all day, we have an estate where probably 90%+ people have left for work by 8:30. In those areas/situation people can get really annoyed taking parcels for others all the time, they begin to feel harassed, the suits response was 'just keep knocking on doors for as long as it takes, if you disturb people then that's not your problem'.

RM seem to want to have their cake and eat it, to achieve the same 1st time delivery rates as companies who's couriers are allowed to fling stuff over fences and stuff things in bins, but without breaking any of our rules. I can't see how they hope to maintain our standard of mail integrity and compete with less regulated courier services in terms of 1st time delivery, the two goals are at extreme odds with eachother.

And I can't even begin to fathom how they think we can find the time to pull this off? As it stands our union rep has told us to ignore this mans demands, which I'm gladly doing.

End of conversation, he doesn't know whether you did or not,whether there was a dog loose other safety issues, etc. So where does he go from here? Nowhere.what a complete load of horse s**t.

That's not how it works, BlackBay will tell them which duties in your office are bringing back the most Tracked Items. He will gather data over a couple of weeks, He will pull you in for the conversation with your rep present and they will both urge you for the sake of the business to try to increase your first time delivery rates. If you don't there will be another conversation, then another until he gets bored and starts picking up on any mistake you make in an attempt to conduct you, eventually being human you'll make a mistake....

That's how it always works in this business.

If I am going next door to post letters, it will show me going there,do they have cameras now?
Still not leaving stuff with neighbours,until such times as the company indemnify me against any loss, if I have acted correctly,and furthermore give me the time as well. They won't, therefore it comes back. Seen it too many times ,neighbour denies receipt of any item, postman gets the blame. Number one rule in this job, watch your back.
