Ok, as one does whilst eating cottage pie on a Monday tea-time, something has been bugging me and I thought I would look at some figures (sorry lads, numbers that is - LOL).
Frightenlingly (?) I came up with the following.
Right. Before I start, can we agree that RMG own and pay out of the same pot, POL wgaes and budgets??? Good, if not don't worry I will come to that.
Right, RMG's own admission:
3000 DO's
70 MC's
8 RDC's
14000 POL branches
=17078 business locations.
At least one £6000 plasma propaganda unit per location= £102,468,000
FLF budgets based at £3000 per office average, although I know for a fact MC's get a hell of a lot more (not inc. POL) = £9,234,000
POL business plan:
14000 Counters branches. Average of 2 per branch. 28,000 staff. POL need to get rid of half of that work force = 14,000 staff.
Average EVR is £15,000 + £5,000 sweetner, oh, and the £1000 gagging order that they don't campaign against the closure of their office = £21,000 EVR (over and above MTSF)
£21,000 x 14,000 = £294,000,000.
Right, lets put all this into perspective:
PLASMAS: £102,468,000
FLF budget: £9,234,000
POL Business plan: £294,000,000
Grand total: £405,702,000....... amazing isn't it. There is a third of that £1.2bn that we got off the government. Right, if Plasmas were not installed into POL/counters, then the total drops down to £321,702,000..... a quarter of the money we got off the government...... and 'Uncle Allan' says he has no cash...... oh, sorry, I ain't budgeted evey managers bonus, averaging £2000 per gaffer......
OK, I may be wrong, but I have been very acute with the figures and based it on minimums. However, it is fact that the plasma 2 way things cost £6000 each..... your thoughts people!!!!
Oh aye, not to mention the money they make off selling the postcode directory and UK mailing list at £3000 a shot, patents of RM equip (perstorps and yorkies) etc..

Pointed out the Plasmas at the WTL session today saying if they can afford that why not a proper pay rise - just got a dirty look from my Lino. Good news was though that it looks as though 80-90% are going to vote for IA.

These plasmas are not just ordinary plasmas. They are 2-way communicating devices. They have a variety of function on them. I think £6k is right coz of the installation costs and running cost. These had to be vetted by H&S on both sides and I am aware that they all had to be re-fitted. So once you take into consideration the labour cost, admin cost, installation cost, courier cost (come on, they would not have used us, they would have used someone else so they can say that the 'competitor' is muscling in), i think £6k is an appropiate figure.
