Union calls off 48 hour postal workers' strike

The CWU union and the Post Office have come to an agreement to avert a two-day strike by staff in the lead-up to Christmas.
The industrial action would have affected staff working in administration and supply chain.
A joint statement from the CWU and the Post Office said:
Following productive talks between the Post Office and the CWU, we are pleased to confirm that the CWU has called off the strikes planned for 23 and 24 December. Both sides will be meeting over the next few days and further progress will be reported. Until that point, the details of the talks will remain confidential.
