The freephone number for Unionline on 0300 333 0303 can also be used to obtain legal advice on other non work related issues. Additionally, members will also be able to get advice on employment law procedures. This is a new service. However, this will not include assessing the merits of any claim.

When using these new services, members will be required to provide their membership number.

Yes outside legal is an option , if worried about cost check your house insurance , as legal expenses for work related instances are covered , if not it don't cost much to get it added , mine was free and covers upto £50,000 .

That is the question. Was he aware of the likelihood of suspension before the sick note was produced, you get the feeling there's only half a tale.

The guys Is a complete nutjob. Look at his previous posts. I'm all up for sticking up for fellow posties, but some people get into trouble accidentally, others bring it on themselves. Besides, I know exactly whom it is, and he only has himself to blame. Needs a mental health check

To me it doesn't matter if he is the most stupid, useless, ineffective and sickly postie in Royal Mail, as long as he is a Union member and he is entitled to representation, he should get it. Yes, even if he has asked for whatever happened. At our place we had a dispute between 2 posties that went to disciplinary. I am proud to say that both sides got the CWU involved, and both are still working here.

We can't chose our members and we can't choose who gets representation. Mind you if they are daft enough to bring it on himself, and only has himself to blame, sometimes even the best representation won't save them.

Well whether bishbash is right or wrong and you are more than congenial, the fact is we don't know the facts and the worried postie has not responded in over 3 months which gives you some idea of the urgency of the situation.

Reading between the lines I suspect he knew the suspension was on the cards PRIOR to the sick note going in hoping it would exempt him from the suspension but it obviously didn't work because he was suspended maybe we'll hear no more about it.

From what I understand dont see a solicitor of your own as if u do the union solicitors won't take over?
