As soon as you get in in the morning, grab your PDA, take the battery out, and put it in the box under your frame

Then just stick the battery back in before you go out

Ours are controlled centrally and are signed for every day. I have heard that the cabinets will no longer be held in the locker but put on the shop floor and I think it's a mistake but as I won't be there :cuppa

This has probably made what was a problem worse and is typical of RM, when you have a piece of equipment that is broken you just nick someone else's and give them the problem.

Most of our batteries are f**ked now, if we get a replacement you can bet in a day or two what you suggest will have happened.

Moya and her people need to sort this out, we don't have 5 years to wait, they are f**cked up now and need sorting now.

They bang on about scan this, do that but can't give us the tools to do the job. It makes me so f**king mad, I just want to go in and do the bloody job, I don't want to be battling with the poxy PDA, it would help if you could switch that bloody alarm off, F**k knows how much battery that wastes keep beeping every 10 seconds but you need a f**king pin number to get in the preferences and we don't have access to that. You would think they don't trust us!

Happy f**king xmas.

I am on a HCT delivery so am out for 5 hours or more and my PDA battery lasts about an hour before the dreaded low battery warning flashes up so have given up using it now and just take a delivery card with me.

I think a PDA Battery are crap and it should be useable for 10 hours of delivery and charged up to full overnight. But it doesn't and think it is time for Royal Mail to order 100,000 new battery for PDA. Let say it cost 25 pounds each it shouldn't be too expensive.

are you describing us there :left:

if mines on the blink i leave it in the back, take pics of them and scan them off that later, any signatures i put on pda "signed on paper"
do this now after been dragged in once for signing them myself as they'd not got the 739s i passed on what they'd signed.
i did hear we are in negotiations with etch-a-sketch for our new devices

If I was staying I would definitely resist any effort to remove the PDAs from a restricted issue. It's no wonder there's problems when it's every man for himself.
How do people go on when the PDA hasn't downloaded at the end of the day? "There may be trouble ahead" as the song goes FFS some can't even spell their own name correctly. One bloke today said to me "it's not showing my name", this was after he had logged in and the delivery scan page was up

First time you get your PDA, hold down the on button, till the PDA resets, log in as normal but suspend coms straight away, for me this usually trebles the battery life.
