so what hours are they paying,if it is classed as a normal working day on the 27th they must pay your duty time
if a manager pays you less hours on this day then its not a normal working day also check the amount of hours your manager is on that day.

I was told that RM are expecting record sick leave on the 27th and that annual leave slots are to be withheld to cater for it.

Sack those who go sick on 27th December unless absolutely genuinely ill

if the office gets cleared on 24th, there can't be much for the 27th surely? theres no companies working/posting boxing day so might have a few late cards or something. but we are half expecting a few yorks of mags/flats to be suddenly shat upon us have to say.

we have granted lieu days for all the senior staff. the manager has basically cancelled all the leave reserves who had a sat off that week (which is 4) and moved their day off to xmas day. im one of them leave reserves. so thrilled someone gets the sat off and im more than happy to work it for them

I know it's no consultation but can't you claim overtime for having your day off on Xmas day

That is a classic example of discrimination and if your rep has okayed it he should hang his head in shame. If your rep hasn't then you have to decide what to do but its definitely illegal, and its against all agreements with Royal Mail.

I'm a rep and senior staff getting the 27th off is a no no.In my office a list has been drawn for those with available leave and those that want the 27th off will go into a draw the ammount of leave slots will be discussed with the DOM at weekly resource meeting and the draw will be done on the floor it is the only fair way do to deal with this.put a grievance in straight away don't let your senior men in your office think they have more rights than others we all have the same terms and conditions regardless.

totally untrue......part timers/reserves are not on the same terms and conditions. vicers don't get one in four Saturdays off, (rookies are only ever given a poxy Tuesday off).....and some part timers a do more d2ds than full timers for less money. its pure s**t for them.

Wrong part time staff have same terms and conditions except for hourly contract and holiday entitlement and that is length of service issue.with regards to days off I try to make sure ththpart timers and leave reserves get there fair share of Saturday's off I personally make sure this is done.

it doesn't happen.....its a well known fact they are pissed on. there's about 15 at ours don't ever get a Saturday off....it shouldn't be allowed to happen full stop. and how many get less delivery supplement for doing more d2d than full time? quite a few to say the least.

While you have a valid point about Saturdays, you do your argument an injustice by harping on about the Delivery Supplement.
The DS is not for delivering D2D. It is for working in the Delivery function and is based on your hours worked.
Nobody gets paid for D2D any more.
