Booked 30 mins today.
Letters were ok but shed loads of amazon. I thought those pesky DHL muppets had slipped them in but they were all RM.

Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Complete piece of p*ss in our office today. Had half a packet bag, hardly any mail and managed to finish, clear up yesterday's York of packets, do the lapsing and wash the van. And still finished 40 minutes early!krussel wrote:Booked 30 mins today.

It's ridiculous, tomorrow there will be so much stuff that another fail is inevitable.

55 minutes yesterday morning and 4 hours in the evening.
55 minutes this morning and 1hr 10 minutes over today.
Working my days off for next two days and in 2 hours earlier than normal.
Was 30+ hours last week, happy to work extra over the winter and bare minimum in the better weather although it's hard going in this weather.

More than likely, our packets are being sorted elsewhere at the moment instead of the local MC. It's normally heavier than that on a normal Tuesday never mind this time of year so they're definitely knocking around somewhere!krussel wrote:Wow Flyer you must have some packets missing. 10 hours.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: The "how much did you book today" thread
do some of you guys feel obliged to do overtime?
I understand that many guys want the extra money, but if you are doing OT because you think you HAVE to, you don't really.

There is a element of "lets get the job done" attitude. I ve not done any xmas overtime for the past 3 years and have felt less stressed and tired for it. I think there are only 2 others in my office working straight time and I am the only one actually on delivery. However the work that I leave gives others an easy bit of overtime as they normally get double the actual time it takes.
So far this Christmas pressure we have had 5 people go sick (2 went off today) as the pressure of mail takes hold.
