On a waiting list for Postie Job

Post by JennyS »

Hello,

Could someone please give me some advice? I went for my interview on Monday and it went really well. Yesterday I had an email saying I had passed the interview but other candidates had done better than me on the online test, so I'm now on a 3 month waiting list. :( I did so badly on my online test, I timed out on one question because my partner was hassling me about food!!! (I'll never forgive him!) I want this job so so so so badly.... is there any hope for me?

Yes there is a lot of hope.

I applied nearly 11 years ago now and did 3 weeks over christmas, was then put on a waiting list and eventually got a permanent job. Nowadays they'll probably you a Fixed Term or Temporary contract to start with.

Also turn over of staff is very high in RM .

I was also put on a 3-month waiting list and got a phone call out of the blue offering me a job - so there's definitely hope! :angel

I'm just waiting for security clearance now!

Good luck - hope your job offer is just around the corner!

I'm also on the waiting list. I thought I had done really well in the interview but got the email saying I had passed the interview but another candidate had scored higher
It's good to hear people have been contacted after being put on a waiting list :pray

I am convinced they say that to everyone.

When I got the email I was absolutely gutted that I had not been offered the role, but reading these forums there seems to be an awful lot of people this happens to and then get a phone call within the 3 months. FIngers crossed!

Hi, well done on passing the interview! I was put on the waiting list and am now working for royal mail, you don't have to wait for them to ring you though, if you are willing to travel a bit keep checking online and if you find a vacancy nearby you can email them your details, then they can take you on your previous interview. This is what i did and it was suprisingly easy and painless haha

Every job advertised basically requires you to be able to drive as its all in vans now. Even though I've being there almost a year and still haven't taken there driving assessment yet

True! Happened to me and then I get the phone call (whilst doing some photography in the snow - damn glad I never left the phone in the car) that the exact same position with the same hours that I'd applied for nearly 3 month ago become available for me to fulfil. Not alone! 5.30am start for me today. :arrrghhh (Perks of having 8 legs and two tails :nana )
